General Ride Information

All Wenatchee Valley Velo Club rides will have strategic designated re-group points throughout the ride.  The majority of the club rides are level C (12-14 mph overall ride avg) however there may be a group B (more strenuous pace or distance) alternative. Please choose a pace / route commensurate with your skill / fitness level.

We require that you have completed and submitted a WAIVER for the current year.

Flat <1,000 Feet of Climbing
 Rolling >= 1,000 and < 3,000 feet of Climbing
 Mountainous >=3,000 feet of Climbing

Note: Average mph reflects overall ride pace.

Requirements

  • Wear approved safety Helmet
  • Pump / CO2
  • Spare Tube / Patch Kit, Tire Levers (unless running tubeless)
  • Hydration (During summer 2 water bottles encouraged as some rides have limited water available)
  • Snack / Gels
  • Identification / Emergency Contact Information
  • Cell Phone
  • Have a bicycle in safe mechanical condition

Ride Safety


  • Ride defensively; anticipate and signal problems, obstacles, and unsafe conditions
  • Practice good situational awareness
  • Be visible; wear bright clothing and use a taillight and headlight, when appropriate.  Visibility is essential!
  • Ride in designated bike lane or as far right as safely possible watching out for hazards.
  • Ride single file in traffic; two abreast is permitted when traffic allows. Cyclists have the right to use the road however not to impede traffic.
  • Maintain sufficient distance from other riders to ensure safe stopping for emergencies. 
  • Signal your intentions audibly, and with hand signals if safe to do so (i.e., passing, slowing, turning, moving in/out of single file, etc.). Surprise moves are not welcome 
  • Obey all applicable traffic laws and observing traffic signs
  • Staying alert and focused at all times looking for hazards, communicate all hazards to other riders
  • Pass on the left, unless conditions permit you no choice. CALL OUT WHEN PASSING
