Rider Level: C (12-14mph avg)

Terrain: Moderate Hills (3900' elevation gain) and Highway Riding

Distance: 72 Miles (just a little more than a metric :-) )

Approx. Time: 6 - 7 hours

Ride Description:

Leaving at 8:00 AM from Olds Station Park N Ride (Penny Road next to Link Transit) 

Ride out 97a to Roundabout then up to Easy St and out to Cashmere then N. Dryden Rd to Dryden - Hwy for short distance to Peshastin and then North Road to Chumstick Hwy. Chumstick Hwy to the top of Beaver Hill. Return via Chumstick / North Road / Peshastin and then up over Deadman Hill / Stines Hill Road, Cashmere / Monitor and Sleepy Hollow Rollers back to start. 

Depending on group consensus will either stop for quick lunch at either Leavenworth or Cashmere on return.

This route will be similar to that of upcoming Apple Century however we will not be dropping down into Plain and doing that portion of the Apple Century Route.

BRING TWO WATER BOTTLES.  Start temps in upper 50s / low 60s, Afternoon Temps expected to be mid 80's by finish time.

This ride does involve  highway riding on Hwy 2 / 97 as well as Chumstick Hwy.

Ride Leader may vary route depending on weather / traffic conditions.

We offer weekly rides on Saturdays that typically start at Wenatchee Valley Brewing Company, led by members of the Velo club. Because we are acting as ride leaders, we HAVE to insist that people sign the wavier, and become members! Completion of membership includes the applicable ride waiver.

Wenatchee Valley Velo supports a multitude of cycling programs and events in the local area. The annual dues from membership along with proceeds from cycling events assist us in promoting safe cycling in our area. Member appreciation events are held throughout the year and are free with your paid membership.
