Uploading .fit file to Trek Ride Club from Strava

Due to Strava's data terms, no data will be transferred from Strava into Trek Ride Club. For those of you who use a trainer with that ride info going direct into Strava you can manually upload the .fit file from Strava into Trek Ride Club. If you are competing in Trek Challenges you may wish to do this so you get credit for all your starts / miles by uploading a .fit file which shows your individual ride data to Trek Ride club App

1. Open up Strava (I do it on a pc)

2. Click on the ride you want to upload so you can see all the details of the ride

3. On left side of your screen next to the “edit” icon is an ellipsis (3 horizontal dots)

4. Click on the ellipsis and the submenu opens.

5. Select “Export Original” from the submenu.

6. The .fit file will be downloaded and placed into your download folder on your pc.

7. Log into Trek Ride Club

8. Go to “Manage your rides”

9. Import Ride from file

10. Go to your download folder and select the ride you just downloaded from Strava

11. Upload the ride to Trek Ride Club and it will show in your data.

Setting Up Emergency Assistance Feature on Garmin Edge

Setting Up the Assistance Feature

1 From the app store on your smartphone, install and open the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

2 Pair your smartphone with your device

3 From the app settings in the Garmin Connect Mobile app, select Emergency Contacts, and enter your rider information and your emergency contacts. Your selected contacts receive a message identifying them as emergency contacts for assistance.

4 Enable GPS on your Edge device.

Requesting Assistance

Before you can request assistance, you must enable GPS on your Edge device and open the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

1 Hold for five seconds to activate the assistance feature. The device beeps, and sends the message after the countdown is complete. TIP: You can select cancel to stop the message.

2 If necessary, select to send the message immediately.

Cancelling an Assistance Message

You can cancel the assistance message on your Edge device or your paired smartphone before it is sent to your emergency contacts.

Select Cancel > Yes before the end of the thirty-second countdown.

Note: if this is a feature that many have enabled on their Edge Device so if you go down (fall) you will hear the 30 second countdown before info is sent to your emergency contact individual(s).

In some instances, if you do a very hard / quick stop on your bike the feature may be activated as well.

Adding GPX Courses on Garmin Edge 530

How do I add a GPX file to my Garmin Edge?

From PC

1. Plug the device into computer using the USB data/power cable.

2. Navigate to the Edge drive on the PC: ...

3. Select the Garmin folder.

4. Select the NewFiles folder.

5. Place file(s) to be imported in the NewFiles folder.

6. Safely disconnect the device from computer.

Most rides provide a link to the various courses either on Ride with GPS, Strava or Map My Ride. From those applications you can export a GPX file which typically ends up in your "download" folder. Usually I'll rename the file to a short version of the Ride Name and then copy it onto my Garmin in the New Files Folder.

When you start your Garmin and go to courses in the menu you will see the course you just downloaded as an option.

From Garmin Connect App on Phone

As info, you can send courses from your Garmin Connect account on phone to your Garmin. According to documentation I've found following is process:

Import the gpx into the Garmin Connect website (Training -> Courses - > Import).

Then open the app, browse to Courses, select the course

Send to Device
